I haven't been able to find it around the Cin. area for about two months now... is Huedepohl-Schoenling still producing it in that small Northern brewery?

The Burger brands were contract brewed and canned by City Brewing in La Crosse, WI.

2001 - Burger and Burger Light receive new packaging and new formulations. The new recipe for Burger closely follows the 1960s Burger Beer recipe and calls for more hops and better ingredients. Burger's name is changed to "Burger Classic." In addition, the umlauts over the letter U are returned to the label. The umlauts were removed around the start of World War II to prevent the brand from being perceived as "too German." Sales of the new Burger packages show immediate improvement and Burger's sales territory is expanded to include Pennsylvania, Illinois and Wisconsin in addition to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
