We're visiting Amsterdam the week after next. I've heard of T'ij, which sounds excellent. Does anybody have any other recommendations please - preferably reasonably central and with food? TIA.

Sorry I got a bit confused there. That will be De Bekeerde Suster won't it. No need to reply :-)

You also need to try the Arendsnest (90 Herengracht) which only sells Dutch beers and aims to have a range from all Dutch micros. It is closed Monday but opens at 16.00 other days. They will also do you a tasting tray of 6 beers.
My favourite bar, though, has to be he Elfde Gebod (5 Zeedijk) - run by lovely people it's a upmarket brown bar - dark panelly, candelit tables, subdued lighting, carpet on the tables, you get the idea. Not much Dutch beer but agreat Belgian range, including some decent lambics, loads of trappists (often including Westvleteren) and other quality beers - about
70 in total. There are usually 3 or 4 on draught, too.If you to to T'Ij, then itts worth the short walk to the Boulevard (3 Cruquiusweeg) - it's an old station buidling converted into a bar-cum-bistro. Great food and about 40 or so decent beers, both Dutch and Belgian - Texels Tripel on draught last year was excellent. From here you can get a bus back to Central Station.
Cheers

Many thanks. My Multimap search for Herengracht gave 4 hits. Whereabouts in the city is it please?
Brian
It's the second canal from city center, after Singel. Arendsnest is near the 1st bridge from the north.
