Beer Festival Promotions

Hiya, I'm hoping to get the attention of anyone organising a yearly beer festival such as the ones run by CAMRA.

I am the developer for Onlyfinebeer - i want to let you know about our festival listings pages. Although they aren't linked from the main site they are available if you'd like to add details of any festivals you might be planning.

For an example of the end result, have a look at the GBBF page:

Contact details are used only for the contact us page associated with each festival and only the name of the contact (not the email address) is available from our site.

So where did you get permission to use Camra's copyrighted pages from?

Oh, and for anyone who wants to know what exactly anyone would consider copyright from that - just start with the image.

That image is the CAMRA copyright festival logo for 2004. Very easy to spot as such since the CAMRA logo is sat in the middle of the first zero of

2004...

While the additional publicity might be appreciated in some respects, it would be at least good manners to ask the owners of the material before copying it to another website. (Which incidentally isn't particularly well laid out)

in article snipped-for-privacy@argonet.co.uk, Steven Pampling at snipped-for-privacy@argonet.co.uk wrote on 26/1/04 7:05 pm:

And while we are at it, let's castigate every magazine, newspaper, radio station or anything else that gives free publicity to CAMRA events.

You know it makes sense.

What does make is sense is making a judgement call on whether the use of a logo is damaging the said organisation. Free publicity is not the same as good publicity.

If you're going to quote it, at least read it. When you get to the bit about it being "...at least good manners to ask..." slow down and think a while.
