Boddington's brewery to close

Interesting. Can I ask which part of the country you're in?

I'd like to get some idea of the availability of cask Boddies around the country, and whether it travels at all well or not.

Of proper Bodingtons on draft.

I was in the Hogshead in Wimbledon.

And the loss of Oldham Brewery. First they go on the acquisition trail. Then they lose their souls. Just like Greenalls. (Although at least Boddies didn't raze their brewery (and Tommy Ducks :-( ) to the ground - they waited for Interbrew to do that...)

Of course the erstwhile Boddington Pub Company actually ended up being bought by Greenalls.

Ah yes, a company famed for buying a brewery while closing one - they then got a bit over enthusiastic and closed one more than they had bought leaving them with none.

All in all if there was a brewery not to regret the loss of, I'd put Greenalls *very* high on the list.
