Boston, Lincs

Hi, Apart from GBG 08-listed pubs, are there any other pubs I should visit please? I'm only there for one night.

Thanks, Lee.

I don't know if it's still listed (or there even!) but some years (15-20!) myself and a drinking mate found a pub just bit back off the ring road that had a pool table in a triangular room. We laughed at the

1 foot pool cue - until we came to take shots from the corner!

When I was living in Boston a couple of years ago, my local was the Roper's Arms on the corner of Horncastle Road and Norfolk Street. I never saw it in the GBG, but I really liked the place nonetheless. It is a small, friendly, Batemans' local, and I always found the beer quality to be good. I've not been there in some time, though.

If time allows, I can strongly recommend a trip to Batemans' Brewery in Wainfleet. It's only a short hop on the train from Boston, and it is quite picturesque, based as it is in a converted windmill. They do a cracking ploughman's lunch there, too!

Cheers.

Martin.

I've been in Batemans pubs like that one. I would say that any pub with a Batemans sign hanging outside is a good bet.

Seconded!

It gets a bit mad if you do it on the music train from Nottingham, though :-)

I see Batemans supply a load of bottled beer to Aldi nowadays - not bad at all for the very cheap price.
