Stratford-on-Avon

Hi, Any recommendations for decent ale houses in Stratford-on-Avon please? The GBG lists the Garrick but local knowledge is always helpful.

Also, anyone know a good Chinese restaurant there please?

Thanks, Lee.

The local branch keep their website up to date and you could always email the chairman if you need more information:

I'd recommend a trip to neighbouring Alcester.

The beer in The West End is pretty good. That is in Bull Street in the Old Town. Near the Garrick is a Wetherspoons and you might strike lucky and find something drinkable in there. I have had some good pints in The Tramway, Shipston Road, but have to say that the last time I went in there my pint of

6X was a bit ropey, but that may have been a one off. Alcester has a lot of proper pubs left, unlike Stratford, sadly. About the same distance away in the opposite direction to Alcester is The Case is Altered at Case Lane, Fiveways. Now that really is worth a visit.
