Willow Walk, Victoria SW1. Some caramel on the nose but little else. Quite malty and a bit sweet. Clear light to medium bright amber with no or little small, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Sweet light to moderate malty toasted, moderate toffee, butter, honey. A bit on the soapy side, some orange and plenty of unbrewed malt. Taste light burnt, burnished sweet and a late buttery, oily note. Slight bitterness. Dry and bitter. Flavour is moderate sweet and light bitter with an average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. And it was in good condition and just the right temperature. Mineral finish. Quite liked it. Not great. Not exciting. Also a pint of Fosters.

How was the Fosters?
Clear yellow colour, with thick cream on top, as the barstaff used the helpful head-button on the keg font.
Some cardboard, a little wet dog, some vegetal especially sweetcorn flavours.
A bit on the bland side, some fizz and plenty of sweet adjunct flavours.
The almost unmistakeable flavour of no hops at all, no bitterness, no hop aroma - apparently uses imported Australian hop jam (extract).
Served ice cold, so it handily reminded me that I need to buy some Sensodyne. As it warmed up in my mouth, I rather wished it had been colder again, so as I wouldn't have to taste this flavour.
The finish was very welcome.
