Fleece, Bretforton

Feb 27, 2004 4 Replies

I've just watched the report on local TV about the gutting by fire of the Fleece at Bretforton, a classic Worcestershire inn owned by the National Trust and a long standing Good Beer Guide entry.

Tragic news, the roof looked as though it has completely gone, though the report mentioned that a lot of the furniture had been saved. The NT spokesperson said that were hoping that the building could be saved.

Chris and I saw the trailer for the news report and said "oh god, not the Fleece"

But it was...

Also a long-standing Good Pub Guide entry. I've passsed this information on to them. Can't find any reference to it in either Google or the NT web site though.

Thanks for that. A real tragedy. Hope the NT can restore it, as they did Uppark.
