Sam Adam's TV commercial just gave me a good laugh

Just a minute ago I saw I guess what is one of the latest Sam Adam's TV commercials. They speak about how all their employees are just a big family of beer geeks, including the head of their legal department -- as the camera focuses on a lady pouring beer through a strainer into a plastic bucket. I suppose that she is straining the hops from the boil, but the problem is that you can actually see the steam coming up from the bucket. Uhhhhhhh ... I guess she never heard of hot side aeration. Beer geek indeed. I hope she's a better lawyer than brewer.

Cheers.

Is that the same commercial with the sudden boilover in a 6 qt saucepan?

I guess it's more fun to show people making stupid mistakes than the relative calm of knowing what you're doing. I, for one, hardly ever curse anymore while brewing. ;-)

HSA? That doesn't exist, does it? ;)

Actually that is how several generations of brewers (me included) started out (due to Papazian). It makes good beer - I never noticed any problems back then. Of course, it probably never lasted long enough for any of the theoretical problems to manisfest themselves.

Yep.

The Treasurer of our local brew club is the head bean counter at the Sam Adams Brewery here in Cincy. I see people I know from SA in their commercials all the time.

For awhile, we had some pretty nice beer commercial over here in the U.S. Seems like Keystone used to have some nice ones with some real cute girls. Can't recall seeing any for awhile.

Cheers.
