Must be good if it has beaten The Bell at Aldworth.

Following on from Roy Bailey's message. . .

I share your feelings.

It's a matter of ticking all the right boxes, and if you're a good salesman then you pander to your customers (in this case CAMRA committees). There's /more than two/ boxes I can think that should be unticked with the Swan : There's no no-smoking area and no disabled facilities.

IMHO there needs to be a very good reason why a national POTY should be discriminating against wheelchair users.

Let's face it no pub is going to "tick all the right boxes" for everyone. For example, the Bell ( I agree, one of the classics) is going to fail on the disabled access criteria isn't it.

Any pub award is by the very nature of what you are trying to judge is flawed. It can't be anything but. However that doesn't mean it isn't worth doing. Diversity is one of those things that makes the UK pub so special.
