I had a beery bottle of something very tasty tonight and which my partner bought at the local Safeway - (wished I'd had 3 or 4 more).
Called "Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer" from that Edinburgh brewer. "Matured in American white oak barrels traditionally used to mature malt whisky".
It was very nice indeed, very balanced - a very rounded brew with a honey tinge of sweetness - although I must admit I'm no expert on hints of whisky
- or wood for that matter - in a beer.
£1.70 for 330ml my partner tells me. Very pleasant indeed - if not a tad too expensive for just everyday scoffing.
