Manky in origin but - unlike their famous Red Devils football team - a winner in taste; my first quart blew my socks off. Good old Manks!

Was hoping to try that while I was in London recently and visited several Spoons but no one had it on tap at the time. I wanted to compare it to some of the Japanese IPAs I sell that are in the American style, very hoppy :-) The nearest hoppy beer I had was the New Zealand Epic IPA but it was not enough to satisfy my craving for more hops :-)

I was .. well expecting more from an Epic beer. the Elgoods CXXX is well bittered(as of course, the Roosters offering) but for strong bitter flavour I found the Velvet Curtain was top.
