The Itchen Valley Brewery Tap, AKA The Grid Inn (Weatherspons) Southfields

I went into my local 'spoons this evening and walked out again; the only choice of guest beers they had was: Itchen Valley, Itchen Valley, or Itchen Valley. Not that I have an objection to them (actually I find that they all have a similar "dirty" tasty). When did Wetherspoons buy Itchen Valley? Or was it the other way around? I walked out again and went somewhere with more variety, I doubt I shall go back for a l-o-n-g time. Cheap is nice, but variety and quality are more impatient.

Within our CAMRA 'patch' we have two Wetherspoons.

Last week one had 4 Itchen Valley brews - Godfathers, Buglers Tipple, Battle of Cheriton, Fagins and two others brewery's beers. The other JDW had 3 Itchen Valley beers - Fagins, Pure Gold and Hampshire Rose. The other beer on was Hampshire's ubiquitous King Alfred's.

It's good to see local breweries being supported, but I hope Itchen Valley are not putting all their eggs into one basket - always a risky situation when the customer is lost.
