Ah! Currently my favourite nectar in a bottle (sorry Fullers 1845). It reminds me of a classic Belgian style (but not sure which). And is sold very reasonably by Coop. Think I better start stocking up the cellar if it has limited period at the Coop.

To the point. This is a very lively beer with a good layer of sediment in bottle, so has to be treated with extreme care. I was just wondering if there are many complaints by consumers not used to bottled conditioned beer? My Coop sells alongside the normal supermarket stuff, with Gold Miner unique in its BCness and no warnings about how to handle this superb beer.

I just worry that it could disappear from the shelves if the uneducated think they are getting 'off' beer.

As soon as I tried it I thought "Orval", which isn't a bad thing to be reminded of.

Out of the thousands of bottles sold throughout the UK (distribution in the SE is a bit patchy, but it is being sorted) we have had about 5 complaints about bits in the beer (the yeast does stick well so it is hard to dislodge in 1 pour) overall, the COOP are very impressed with the product and its reception, if enough interest is apparent to HQ, it could be kept on... Thanks for the complement!! The beer was brewed to showcase the First Gold hop and I believe that it shows it well. As I pointed out in an earlier post, if sales keep up, we may get a longer listing. Don

Recent bottles I agree have been OK, but the early ones I purchased (Coop in Radcliffe, Notts) really did need treating/pouring with care. Who knows how that batch had been handled en route to the supermarket shelf. I fear someone had given them a very vigorous shake up.

I should add that my Coop always has fewer bottles in stock at any one time than I want to buy. A think an e-mail to Coop demanding more Gold Miner is in order!
