Mike - do you know if Zerodegrees in Blackheath ever do cask beer these days? I've got a small club festival coming up and I'd be interested in taking one or maybe two from them if they do.

Just wondering if it's worth me asking, and if they'll know what I'm talking about if I do!

On a separate matter, is the the number of handpumps proportional to how good the beer in a pub is?

Well, in my time we bought some new casks & had plans to do more fests, & if memory serves Bristol at least are putting out cask beer for fests (& winning awards too) - have a word with the brewer, I'm not sure who's at Blackheath now, but ring or visit early in the day & you should catch him/her.

They should know what you're talking about at least & I have a feeling it won't be cheap, but you should be able to find out at least.

Where & when's the fest?

No, but he does chose some excellent beers.

When I said that he had 8 beers on the bar, I was being a little brief. He normally has 9 real ales, it's just that he has put on a traditional draught cider for the last few weeks.

His having 9 beers does mean that the most unpopular beer can be on the bar all week, while the very popular ones last less than a few hours.
