After months of silence we're back organizing the largest Christmas Beer Festival of the Essen Region, Belgium, Europe, and maybe even the world? (if anyone knows about another big Christmas beer fest - let me know!
December 17 and 18 OBER organizes this growing event for the 11th time. Because of this large interest and the almost legendary mass crowd last year we had to move to another larger venue. The new place is called Heuvelhal, en is situated in the Essen city centre, next to the community hall. Though this place is further from the railwaystation, it is only a 20minute walk. For the less sportive beer taster we have arranged a taxiservice driving between the railwaystation. Cost will be 1Euro pp, if the minibus is full. There is also a public bus going from the railwaystation to the Heuvelhal, every hour.
Saturday doors open at 2PM, Sunday at noon. Maps and directions on how to get there are provided at our new website at

The list of draught beers we'l serve is most likely the most balanced list we've had in years. 12 beers until so far, from Flanders, Wallonia & Brussels, going from blond over amber to dark brown, and also the taste and alcohol levels are nicely spread.
Further more we're pleased to serve you beers from the housebreweries Domus and Grote Markt, and the brand new Gnomette from Achouffe's sideproject Les3Fourquets ( to be confirmed) next to classics as Dupont's Aves Les Bons Voeux and Stille Nacht. We also have interesting beers from smal breweries as De Ranke, Kerkom, Fantôme and La Rulles. All together we'll have more than 100 Christmas and winter beers, specials and champain beers included.
