I bought a 12 bottle variety case at a duty free store. When I cracked one (honey brown) open tonight I noticed that the label said the beer was imported. It was obviously labeled for sale in the U.S. My question is, would it have been better to buy the beer in Canada at a regular distributor or at the duty free? BTW, how is beer sold in Canada?

I've had Sleeman's on draft in Canada and in bottles in the US. I'm not impressed.

I sort of doubt they'd brew a different beer or with a different recipe for the US, since they are relatively new to the US market and don't sell enough beer here to warrant it. Certainly SOME imports are brewed differently for the US or are beers brewed exclusively for export or are re-named for the US market or are contract-brewed by some other brewer.
As in the US, it varies by province.
I meant cheaper first and original recipe second.
