Maybe try 'The New Complete Joy of Home Brewing' by Charlie Papazian. It's an insightful book that's held me in good stead.

I would like to start brewing and am looking for a decent book on the subject. I enjoy Stouts and Wheats. I am look for information on equipment required, pros and cons of different equipment material, what to look for when buying ingredients, basic things like that. Any suggestions?
