Bottling with DME?

All, On my current batch of beer I am thinking about carbonating with DME instead of Sugar? Any ideas or tales of trial and error? How much with how much water? Is it a good idea or am off the wall?

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by primimg with DME. In fact, since different extracts have different degrees of fermentability, it's kinda a crapshoot since you don't know how much it will ferment and how carbed your beer will be. I prefer corn sugar since it reliable. No priming, whatever it is, will have an effect on taste since you use so little of it. I once did a double blind test with the same beer force carbed, and primed with corn sugar, cane sugar, DME and honey. Tasters were 2 experienced homebrewers and 1 person with good taste buds. No one could tell which was which and there was no difference in any of the beer's carbonation level or quality.

Use 1.25 cups of DME.
