Decent beer glasses, Australia

Mayfair&Jackson's Pilsener glasses: fine-edged beer glasses with 416ml capacity. I cannot recommend them highly enough for top value - if you are willing to spend a little, that is.
I've seen them in most of the sort-of bargain department stores (Harris Scarfe in Adelaide, Allens in NSW/ACT, don't know what the equivalents are elsewhere).
RRP seems to be $24.95 for a set of six, but they're often on some sort of special. I've never paid more than $22 for them and got my last couple of boxes for $14.95 at Allens.
I know you can't buy them in person, but you can get someone to get these sight unseen and you will be happy with them, I'm sure.
Cheers, Richard F.

Guess that would be one approach, give up on the Washington style and go for the less desirable for me Pilseners instead.
Yeah, the price is only a minor consideration, dont break that many.
Interesting. Dont get any hits in google with or But Tom's url is exactly what I need.
Yeah, I can do that, get someone to show up in person and just check that they are thin rimmed.
No need for that with your recommendation tho, thanks for that, I'll get some.

True, thats why I rather cryptically included the word generally.
Meant to include the fluid oz capacity too, managed to forget.

No worries at all. All you need now is some decent beer to drink out of them ;-)

Got heaps of that thanks.
Got a bit carried away when I got started and the database claims it should last till about December.
All better than the bought stuff, no regrets at all.

It's so great to have you back again. We have missed you so much!!
Was it something we said that drove you away?

Just curious Rod - what styles do you brew? Given that you do not seem a slapdash sort of character, I'm wondering whether you go for the more difficult styles?

Just about everything, including cider.
Nar, just the basic commercial kits.
I am planning to automate it quite a bit with fancy temperature and bubbling rate logging, and temp control, but havent got around to that yet. Just so many hours in the day and plenty to fill them with.

Ciders - well you shouldn't be short of juice in the MIA. I'm having a hard time trying to source preservative free juice in any quantity in Sydneyv:(

G'day rb,
I've successfully used the preservative free pasteurised juice from Bilpin. You can get it from many of the orchards up that way, including The Fruit Bowl (02) 4567 1152, and Bilpin Springs Orchard:
Last time I was up there, The Fruit Bowl was selling 3L bottles of juice which makes it cheaper - can't remember how much, but better than by the litre!
I remember seeing this juice in a fruit shop in Sydney when I lived there. Not sure, but it might have been at Northmead or Rozelle (sorry I can't be more specific!). Either way, seems that it makes it down from the mountains, so maybe ask the Fruit Bowl where they distribute to.
Also, Bilpin Springs sells cider varieties:
cheers, Ross.
