I am about to brew my first batch and was wondering if I should do a secondary fermentation. I have the equipment necessary but was not sure if I should worry about that the first time or not.

It's by no means mandatiry, although it can be useful. Do it if you want to learn how, otherwise skip it until you've done a couple batches.
