In my experience they're an OK company in that they ship promptly and try to make their customers happy. What they call the Glass Minuet (really the Jena Zylindro if I remember correctly) is my mainline brewing vessel.

Are their teas worth ordering?

Sorry to say, on the whole no. I wouldn't say I've *never* had really good tea from them, but the average quality of their stuff seems lower than other Internet vendors I've used.

And no, I am not, nor have I ever been, a vendor.

Martha,

Here is a link to a bunch of reviews of teas from Adagio. I've personally never tried teas from them, though. Good luck with your tea class.

Thank you, Micheal, for the link (interesting site), and others who have answered my questions.

I've decided to go ahead with the order (a small one) with the hope the teas I selected will be at least good, if not better. One of the functions of tea-tasting should be comparison not only of types of tea, but also of differing quality.

My mother used to say each person serves a purpose, even if it is to serve as a bad example. I think the same can be said of teas.

Thank you for your good wishes regarding my upcoming classes. I believe we all will enjoy the experience. These first three classes are an introduction to teas. (Later classes will focus on one type and will feature wider selections.) I've ordered teas from Mark Wendell, Upton Teas and Simpson and Vail, in addition to Adagio. We'll try different vendors next time.
