A buddy of mine who is attending Oxford agreed to bring me a couple bottles of Scotch back when he comes home for the Holidays. Anyone know if there are any limitations or rules on doing this? I'm only looking at 2 bottles and I assume he will need to pack them in his 'checked' baggage, but will he have to claim them for customs? Thank you in advance for the tips!
Bringing Scotch from the UK to the US

Be careful with this advice. If you arrive at your final destination as you pass through customs in the US, this is correct. If you have a connecting flight, once you go through customs you must pack the whisky in your checked luggage for the final leg(s) of your flight as you must go through security again.
