My list is complete

Dont worry folks. This is not "The List" as in the irritating poster who just posts endless lists of SMSW. This is for my nosing and tasting on Thursday 13th December. I have been booked to talk about the making of SMSW, the differences between different area's etc. As I said in my thread above, its being held in a wine importers shop. Its in a town with around 45,000 inhabitants. For people in NL its in Harderwijk to be exact. Anyway after much discussion with the proprietor on Friday night I made a choice out of what he had in store and tried to balance between the lower prices up to mid priced, so that the people attending might choose a favourite and buy a bottle or two. This is what I will be presenting on the night ( accompanied with music on concertina and a couple of songs).

  1. Bladnoch from Signatory Vintage. 15 years.
  2. Dalwhinnie 15
  3. Glenfarclas 15
  4. Dalmore 12 ( good follow up to the Glenfarclas with its Olorossi butt and marmalade like taste)
  5. Springbank 10
  6. As We Get It Islay Cask Strength at 58%vol. Its one of Ian Macleod's mystery malts. But after tasting it I was sure it was a young Ardbeg. It tasted very similar to Ardbeg Still Young. I would be very interested to hear of anyone who knew exactly what it was.

I will have someone take pictures of the event and post them on my blog site. Thanks for the imput on my last thread. I had to choose from the whiskies the man had in stock so I think this lot will move them up the ladder a bit. I wanted to include a Highland Park, but he had none in stock. No Talisker either, so had to make do with what the man had.

Peace,

Jock
