FYI: A rare single malt created for the connoisseur, Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve

18 Year Old is a fine testament to the art of the craftsman.

Its complex character and sublime mellowness come from the long years of maturation in the finest Oloroso sherry casks and traditional bourbon casks, carefully selected by The Glenfiddich Malt Master. The sweetness from the sherry wood is seamlessly complemented by the oakiness from the traditional casks.

All the spirit used to make Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve Single Malt is matured for eighteen years or more in The Glenfiddich Distillery's traditional dunnage warehouses. With thick stone walls and low ceilings, they are perfect for maturation and produce the highest quality single malt Scotch whisky.

Nosing and Tasting

Glenfiddich Ancient Reserve 18 Year Old has an elegant nose, with scents of apple and wood. It is robust and full-bodied, but remarkably mellow. It has a slightly sweet palate, perfectly balanced by subtle oak and a delicate maltiness. The finish is soft, rounded and long lasting.

price is 42,90 Eur -> 1 ERU = 1,1492 US-Dollar -> ca 49,30 $

seems youre a bit too expensive :) - well, maybe its this expensive in the states ;)

greetings from good old europe,

korbinian

Actually that is expensive because it can be purchased for US$46 at Wine & Liquor Depot in Van Nuys, CA. Don't forget though, that you get

50ml more per bottle in the US and the bottling strength is 43%abv as opposed to 40%abv for the version offered on whiskyworld.de.

well, 46$ including Tax ? -
