Glenlivet French Oak Finish

The NC State booze stores have Glenlivet French Oak Finish at discount this month. They have some bottles at 12 yo and some at 15 yo all at the same price. Is there a noticable difference between them?? Seems to me in an oak finish, non-peaty, non-Islay malt, the older the better. is this right??

Chuck,

I believe the 12 yo is called French Oak Finish whilst the

15 yo is called French Oak Reserve. No idea what the difference might be. Maybe it's the same stuff, just 3 years older??

Well, I bought the 15 yo French Oak Reserve and it's very tasty. Wondering whether to go back for the

12 yo just to see the difference. Anybody tasted both??

I have a 1983 French Oak Finish, bottled and bought in 2003. I've been waiting for an old WW II buddy to come by for a wee dram before opening it.

Patience, Grasshopper, patience.
