I by and large don't think much of Glenmorangie but there 15 Year Old is absolutely fantastic and well priced.

Actually I just remembered that the Glenmorangie Cellar 13 is also an excellent consideration if you are going through a duty-free shop.

The standard 10yo far from impressive. Never been too impressed with any of the standard Wood Finish range (sherry, madeira, port), either, though I must admit they are nice enough drams. The best Glenmorangie so far, indeed very good one, was Glenmorangie 18yo. Recently had some Glenmorangie Cellar

13, and my advice to anyone is: avoid it, don't waste your money.

I will disagree on this one. Which only goes to prove there are as many individual opinions on a given whisky as there are individuals expressing those opinions. I last had Glenmorangie Cellar 13 about a week ago, and my notes taken then say "thin, one-dimensional, flat, acidic finish, unpleasant and boring". OK, there were "flowers, cammomile, vanilla, hints of honey and sea saltiness" there as well, but nothing impressive in their composition, the individual notes fighting rather than complementing each other. My wife, who always helps me write tasting notes for my website (and has an excellent, sensitive palate), threw her hands in the air in dispair, and said there was nothing she could contribute to the notes.

Don't such disagreements of opinion make whisky even more intriguing a drink?

Cheers, Rajmund
