I write this late in the afternoon on New Year's eve, though I know for many of you it will be the new year before you see this and for some of you it is the new year already. But I just want to wish all of you happiness and good fortune in the coming year. Tonight I'll be toasting all of you not with a whisky but a champagne cocktail for a change. Well, I might slip in a wee nip of Lagavulin. (And Serge would be perfectly right to point out it won't truly be a Champagne cocktail since I'll be mixing with only a "sparkling wine" - I wouldn't sully real Champagne with a mixer.)
