Happy New Year

I write this late in the afternoon on New Year's eve, though I know for many of you it will be the new year before you see this and for some of you it is the new year already. But I just want to wish all of you happiness and good fortune in the coming year. Tonight I'll be toasting all of you not with a whisky but a champagne cocktail for a change. Well, I might slip in a wee nip of Lagavulin. (And Serge would be perfectly right to point out it won't truly be a Champagne cocktail since I'll be mixing with only a "sparkling wine" - I wouldn't sully real Champagne with a mixer.) See you next year when it's back to whisky for me. Happy new year to all!

Happy new year to you and yours, Bart, and thanks for contributing so much to the group this past year.

For that matter, I wish a pleasant year of dramming to all those who post and lurk here. The group has expanded significantly in the last couple of years.

At my house tonight, it will be some pleasant Oz shiraz early on, a little champagne around midnight, and then into the Bowmore Mariner, Highland Park and Laphroaig as long as the friends, the conversation and the music last. (Upgraded my stereo system in the Boxing Day sales, and everything old is new again.)

cheers, all.

And to you and all of the other posters, as well. Tonight we shall toast with some mulled mead. But I suspect that rational thought will assert itself and a few drams of something more appropriate will be consumed! Now what that is...
