Lagavulin shortage

Many are sayng that the precieved shortage of Lagavulin 16 is a myth. Could marketers be making it up to drive the price?



I know it's harder to get, but apparently there's lots of stocks.


Rumours of a shortage always drive up demand but I sympathise with your viewpoint. The distillery denied any shortage of the 16 when I was there in

2002. As you say, loads of it in the stores round these parts.

Hi all, No real shortage, but quotas, sure, depending on the markets. Same with Oban. That's no rumour, for once! ;-)

FWIW, none of the local stores here in the Washington DC area where I usually buy it have it right now. Some I haven't asked why, but some said they are unable to purchase it.

Luckily I have half a bottle open and two more as backup...
