nice Milwaukee prices

I can't believe these prices at Elm Grove Liquors in Milwaukee (yesterday). I plucked two Ardbegs off the shelf, but will go back to stock up big time next time I drive through:

Ardbeg 10 $29.99 Aberlour 15 $33.99 Bowmore 12 $22.99 Bowmore Darkest, Dawn & Dusk $29.99 Glen Moray 12 (I think it was $23.99 or less--and it's good--the Chenin Blanc maturation is really interesting in zesty honey/vanilla sort of way)

and there were more, but my Ardbeg-addled head can't remember them all. Are other places (in the U.S. or elsewhere!) seeing discounting like this, or is this local store simply either getting a strange marketing deal, or selling these honeys near cost?

When I first noticed the subject line I said "what the hell is he talking about bad beer for..." Glad to see I was wrong. heh.

Im in Georgia and, strangely enough, the prices depending on the size of a "good" store are a few dollars higher than what your stating. Its a 50/50 mix. Small stores that dont sell much are trying to move their stock and large stores are making up the low prices in volume. Then theres the average shops, just profitable enough to stay in business and arrogant enough to charge $50 for Arberlour. I am rarely near the "good" stores, so I might be interested in getting a couple bottles at a decent price from you. You know the over state deal. I send you a gift of money, and you send me a gift of a bottle. Pretend its a birthday or something.

(yesterday).

That's a great price on Ardbeg. I just paid $39.

I have never seen Ardbeg below $38 for .75lL retail before (even AMS duty-free it's still about $40 for 1L. That's why I'm wondering if this is a trend, or whether this store is just selling at cost?

I just got 4 more at $29.99. This puts Ardbeg, for me, in the category of "everyday dram" (and it beats out the increasingly shockingly light Bowmore 12 which is now retailing in MKE for $22.99)!
