Finally hitting the shelves after so many false starts and promises. I saw this on the shelves at Binny's in Chicago, $57 USD for 750ml. Any other sightings across the US?

Hi Bushido,
Near the middle of March I purchased the Laphroaig 10 y.o. CS at Town Wine and Spirits in Rumford, Rhode Island for $70...it had just arrived that day and it was still in the box. I haven't yet opened the bottle. (What am I waiting for?)
Sean
Its been in Rhode Island and California for about a month, and came to Connecticut just last week! It was certainly worth the wait.

Just picked up 2.33 liters at Schiphol at 31 Euro the liter. Hope the price comes down here!!!!!
We have had the Laphroaig 10 YO Cask for over a month, $59.99.
I just called my daughter in RI and had her order me two bottles of the CS to hold for me. As she has a very good connection in the industry, I'm proud to tell you I got them at a very good price ($52 per). I'll be up there soon and will carry one of them back with me when I return (to Florida) and the other I will indulge in while there for a month or so.
On another subject, please. We talked about Ardbeg Uigeadail in a posting about a month ago. Has anyone seen it in the US yet. The distributors that I've talked to haven't heard anything about it, but it supposed to be here in the spring of 2004.

I keep hearing May.
It hasn't made it to my usual haunts in Austin Texas, but it's not unusual for whiskies to appear here months after they're available elsewhere in the U.S. The exception seems to be Springbank for some reason...
Good to hear it's finally available. I've been waiting for this one since hearing it praised so highly here for the last few years. I'll keep watching for it.

That might have been in a post by me.
"And in one last bit of good news, [Anthony Burnet] told us that Uigedail, the new expression from Ardbeg, with no age statement, containing some sherry aged Ardbeg, and at a much higher (essentially cask strength) ABV, will be imported into the U.S., probably begining in May - June of this year." - Feb 4th 2004
But it isn't unusual for these announced release dates to be a little optimistic. There are federal hurdles and 50 different state regulations to comply with, not to mention the logistics of distribution. I haven't heard anything more about it lately. Best advice is to just keep watching for it. Look how long it has taken for the Laphroaig CS which seems just now to be appearing in the US.
Bart
I've got some friends at the distributors in FL and RI keeping their eye out for the Uigedail. As soon as it is in I'll know about it, I'm sure. Just got two bottles of the Laphroaig CS and am anxious to tast it (it is in RI at a friends house and I'm in Florida for now).

It appears to have made it to Atlanta, GA, too. I spotted a bottle of it tonight that I swear wasn't there earlier this week. If anyone in here is in the metro Atlanta area and wants a location, just let me know.
Someone should post a review! I believe when I glanced at it earlier tonight they were asking $54 for a bottle. Not exactly cheap, but not too bad at all.
Best regards, Russell

It's going for $94 a bottle in CT! Thankfully I already purchased two bottles out of town.
