Well, I Took a Plunge...

I've always liked the various wood finishes of Glenmorangie. The Port and Madeira are favorites and offer nice counterplay of taste experiences. I have a rather significant birthday coming up... I might add that I am also "under employed" at the moment. The wife, she who must be obeyed, has never cared for the malt. BUT... Almost 20 years ago I introduced her to fine dessert wine and we have shared Chateau d'Yquem on many occasions. I love Sauternes. I love single malt. The Glenmorangie limited bottling looked intriguing. Only 4000 bottles made. Finding it in the US was a royal pain. After many weeks, I found

3 bottles (all in one store, but no where near me). If I was gainfully employed, I would have bought one to drink and one to save away. In any event, wifey told me to grab a bottle if I found it. So it is on its way to me.

I shall invite a friend or two over on my birthday to enjoy some of this stuff and see if I can coax my wife into the world of malt...

Join the club (recovered sysadmin here, I'm now driving a truck).

At the risk of offending, might I ask how many US$ and where?

Please make a few tasting notes and post them.

Good luck, but it might be very expen$ive in the long run.

Regards, Rob
