World of Whiskeys at Heathrow?

Are the WoW shops in Heathrow on the air or land side? If I'm flying into Heathrow, can I visit the shops on the way out of the airport, or do I need to be on an outbound trip (so I have a boarding pass)?

If not, are there any good whisky shops near Heathrow? How about decent cigar shops?

Thanks...

On air if you are at shopping hall facing runaways peek to your upper left hand corner...Michael

close to escalator end of hall...Sorry if this does not make sense, but have a vivid pic in my mind use them to buy gifts when travelling out via Heathrow Michael

So one can only get to WoW if they are on an outbound flight from Heathrow, yes? I.e. arriving passengers AT Heathrow won't have a boarding pass to get in the airside...?

If so, anyone know of any decent whisky shops near the airport (my hotel is near the airport too).

Thanks...
