Any body heard that the 97 PR cab not up to par? They have recently dropped the price to $65 from $80.Am hearing some mixed reviews on this wine.Bought just one but would like to hear from someone who has tasted it recently.
I haven't heard anything negative re this particular wine. But I have heard some mutterings re the 1997 vintage as a whole not being as good an ager as some critics orginally opined. My personal opinion: No, 1997 CalCabs in general are not going to last 20 years. But decent ones aren't falling apart now either. BR PR has not been worth its pricetag since maybe '92 vintage.
That's from a Europhilic acid-freak, so YMMV. :)
