2000 Chateau Canon La Galleliere St Emilion

My first from a case I bought in a group of futures. Thought I would see where it's at. Medium garnet in the glass. Very tight nose at first requiring at least an hour to open up. First impression is smoke but after a while roasted coffee, red plums, red currants and a sweet spicy note. Medium weight on the palate. Deliciously explosive on the palate. Different nuances with each sip. Plenty of roasted coffee and espresso notes with cassis, plums, a bit of sage and a touch of exotic spices. Fine, ripe tannins with a fair amount of grip and a very long finsih. Very nice but years from peak. "A"
