Will be doing a rack of lamb with potatoes Duchesse tonight. Pre-wine will be Pehu NV Champagne and last of my Gary Vaynerchuk 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. What is everyone else doing?

Well, the Pehu was what I expected. A really nice grower Champagne with moderate acidity and nice Chardonnay qualities B+ to A-. The Vayniac Cabernet was put together by the Wine Library TV group sourced from some of the best Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and then made at Crushpad. This is an opulent Cab with a great nose and long finish A-

We had filet's with roasted Brussels sprouts and potatoes. Wine was Chave Offerus St Joseph 2001. At first a bit funky but the color was deep and inky purple and the finish was long and clean and while I am not sure what a violet might like, I believe that this wine offered such in abundance. Better than some Chave that I have had despite the funk on the front (it blew off with a bit of time anyway).
