2003 Sine Qua Non Roussane Late Harvest

I was recently gifted a bottle of 2003 SQN Boots, Pasties, Scantie-Panties and a 10 Gallon Hat late harvest Edna Valley Roussane from Alban's Vineyard . Manfred Krankl has an odd off beat sense of humour when naming his wines but quite frankly this is perhaps one of the best 3 dessert wines I have e ver tasted. The wine is the color of tea with a bit of viscosity yet not s yrupy. Nose of hazelnuts, honeysuckle and orange marmalade. Explosive on the palate with honey and orange notes with a silky sweetness and a smooth acidity. I checked and this wine weighs in with 370 grams per litre of re sidual sugar and a total acidity of 136 grams per litre. Hard to express th e balance in words. A+
