2004 Graf Hardegg "V"

After seeing Michael Pronay's comment about this wine, I decided to seek it out. I checked the various links that Michael provided and found a place in Munich with the wine in stock.

Friday I went to a big wine shop in Cologne to try and pick up some more Seresin Sav Blanc. The Seresin was sold out, but on my way out, I stopped by the Austrian section and found the Graf Hardegg V.

Nose: Perhaps a bit of citrus and lots of wood (to which I am not adverse) Palate: lemony citrus and a wonderful caramel/toffee on the finish. Really nice, dense mouthfeel to this wine. At nearly 30 euros a bottle, not for everyday, but I certainly will buy this again.

Thanks for the heads-up, Michael.

You're welcome. Younger vintages might show slightly less wood, iirc.
