What can you ask of a $5.99 red? A couple of fruit flav-ahs, good mouthfeel, some balance, and some tannins remaining to suggest it could be kept for a year or so if you want to buy it by the case. For these reasons, the Torrelongares Carinena(region, not the grape) Tinto-Garnancha 2002 made the grade. All you could want for the price. And then some. Good swill at a good price.
