I was impressed with the '95 Ravenswood VB, thought it had ample fruit, and balanced tannins and acids, so I bought an extra case to put away for a while and see what develops. All the talk the last couple of days about Ravenswood got me thinking, so I pulled a bottle to go with a charcoal broiled butterflied leg of lamb.
The forward fruit has diminished, and the tannins have also taken a back seat to the still vibrant acids, color has taken that nice brick red rim. Not at all what I expected, but still and all a good bottle of wine for little cash.
