"2003 Beaujolais we assembled to investigate what some have called the best vintage since 1947"
Yeah, but mostly by people who say "I don't usually like Beaujolais, but I like this vintage (or the God-like critic I follow slavishly tells me I like it)" I don'tknow many (any?) serious Beaujolais fans that call it that. I personally loved many 2002 Beaujolais wines, and am hoping for good things from 2004-haven't tried any yet. I basically skipped 2003 Bojo after a few samples.

Bill, Of the ones you've tried I've only had the Brun and the Lapierre, both of which are perennial favorites in our household. However, the '03s are not easy to like, being for the most part out of balance and lacking charm. I for one am not looking for a Bojo that I can pair with steaks. Like Dale, I'm giving '03 a pass and hoping for '04.

Glad to know I am not out there aone in the wilderness. I will probably not skip 03 but am happy to know that my not being overly impressed with the wine of the century is not necessarily a tragic character flaw.
