Dinner suggestion Nice

Jet lagged and cranky i will still want dinner Friday night. We will be staying at the Gounod in central Nice. (Next to Splendid) Good QPR wine list a high priority of course.

One answer: Vin sur Vin, a small bistro on Rue Biscarra which is a cross street of the boulevard Jean Medecin, right in front of the large Etoile shopping center. Esp. at lunch. Do visit the wine cellar behindthe glass doors, some stuff that you will not find in most restaurants... you can also buy wiune there.

I was there last week and ate very well as usual, not expensive at all, with a glass of Domaine Rimbert.

If owner is there, Franck, say hi to him.

cheers

Mike

PS you might also try Merenda, you cannot reserve, you cannot even call, just show up.

PPSS For wine stores the best is no doubt La Part des Anges.

PPPSSS Next time let me know sooner and I'll come meet you... ;-0 or come to Bandol I'll give you a tour.

And you know how hard it is to find a place to eat in Provence that is better than the cooking we get at home, your place or mine...

Nils, spoken like a true-blue Australian !!!!

As to Mikes original sentiment, you will only get 100% agreement from His Lordship.

Mike, do you realise that it is nearly 12 months since they agreed to let me into Nice!!!

Mike, I daresay that the same could be said of almost any region. I know that the best kitchen in my home town is about 35 feet from me right now. Between my wife and I it is hard to justify a night out anywhere in the area.

That said I appreciate the recommendation for Nice. Since we have lunch and dinner to take care of we might become quite decadnet in our 30 hour layover. :-)

'Time flies like an arrow - fruit flies like a banana' Parse and translate into Japanese in the form of a haiku.

For dinner get a chauffeured limousine and drive one hour to Imperia, go to Agrodolce, Andrea Sarri prepares the most exciting seafood anywhere on the mediterranean.
