EuroCave Experience

I recently purchased an EuroCave Comfort 1-Temp 260 from the Wine Enthusiast after doing quite a bit of research of what would work best for my requirements (e.g., operation in a garage where the inside temperature can vary from about 45 to 85 deg F seasonally). For such requirements, having a unit which heated as well as cooled was important. While I am pleased with the unit, I do have two questions for others with similar units. I have tried to ask my questions to customer support at the WE, with a less-than-satisfactory response.

(1) The temperature control dial is "calibrated" from 52 through 57 deg F. If I set the dial at 57 deg F, the unit seems to hold the internal temperature at around 54 deg F (based on the digital readout). Is this 3 deg F variance typical performance?

(2) The manual (I'm being generous with that term) that came with the unit indicates that if you turn the temperature control dial counter-clockwise (cooler), the refrigeration unit should come on at some point as indicated by the green light. It does. If you turn the dial clockwise (warmer), the heater unit should come on a some point as indicated by the red light. It doesn't, even if I turn the dial all the way clockwise. Both lights do turn on if I press the "Test" switch. Is there a problem here?

Thanks for any help. Mike

With Power on you need to press the test button and hold it. If both the red and green light come on it is fine.

As for the temperature once you have it cooled and wine in the unit, no matter how calibrated the wine should be held at a constant. My liquid temperature barely changes 1/2 degree ever. Winter Spring Summer or fall.

Get a liquid therm and use that. Set the dial until you are happy with that.

WE has always been good for me. If you have any issues demand to speak with the Manager.

And I'm assuming you mean "their" digital display?
