I've never found this to be a top CCR for my tastes, the pretty good '88 being best I remember.

If I'm going to pay $30 or more for Chianti, I'd rather go with Castello di Ama or maybe Felsina Rancia. Or just pay $18-20 for the basic Felsina Beradenga, that I prefer to the Ruffino.

The Felsina Rancia is my current favorite among Chianti Classicos. Expen$ive @ $40+US, but *great* Chianti.

I can envision Dr. Lecter drinking it, accompanied by fava beans and someone's pancreas... ;^D
