Haier or Avanti cooler?

I am totally unfamiliar with this brand but I'm not sure of the value of something that holds only 17 bottles.

I was given a Haier wine cooler for my birthday last year. This was a dual zone 18 bottle unit that used electronic cooling (no compressor). The upper section stopped cooling within 3 weeks. Haier sent me a replacement unit, which took a month. The replacement section stopped cooling exactly 3 weeks later.

I unplugged the units and use them for wine storage, unpowered. I doubt I will buy a refrigerated unit again, and certainly not from Haier.

Both are too small... If you plan to mature wine for, say, 5 years average, you can drink 3-4 bottles a year... On the other hand, if you buy for short term (up to one year) and live in a hot area then such a cooler might be useful. Which one is beyond me... Anders

I'm not sure what your goal is. If you just want to chill white wine put it in your fridge. Neither of these units is really meant for long term storage of wine.

Thanks guys. After finding a few reviews on the Haier in question, I've decided against both these coolers. Instead, a Danby 17 bottle cooler would be ideal for my needs based on the many reviews seen. Unfortunately, damage during shipment seems to plague this Danby so I've decided to buy my daughter's tiny 2.7 cu ft refrigerator instead. She just finished college and has no immediate use for it.
