How about Swedish wine?

Oct 19, 2003 0 Replies

I read today´s newspaper (the local one) and found, to my not too big surprise, that two guys have started a vineyard a few km´s outside our town. Not too big, since there are apparently 6 vineyards on the Danish side of the strait. ANyway, their first harvest yielded about 400 bottles, this year it will (they think) be about ten times as much. The vines blossomed about Midsummer, and harvest is coming up.

Their preferred varietals are Louis Millot and Regent - they also grow a lot of ROndo which apaprently does well but yields inferior quality.

Let´s hear it for the global warming, and may optimism never die.

Cheers

Nils Gustaf
