Importers whose names are a guarantee of wine quality

Obviously the best method to select a wine before purchasing is to taste it . However, tasting before buying is not always an option.

I don't pay much attention to a wine's description on the back label, since they all seem to lavish praise on the stuff inside even if it is plonk.

However, there is a fairly reliable quality indicator on the label which I do use: the name of the *importer*.

In addition to, for example, Kermit Lynch, Jorge Ordonez and Eric Solomon ( I know I am leaving several worthy others out), who are the importers whose name on the label--in your experience--equate to a guarantee that the juic e inside the bottle will be of good quality?

Thanks.

Interesting question, Leo (long time no see!) and one that I've discussed before. Here's my list of preferred importers:

Kermit Lynch Neal Rosenthal (with certain caveats) Louis Dressner Jorge Ordoñez Skurnik/Theise Selection Massale

and, to a lesser extent:

Weygandt-Metzler
