Info on 1996 Raymond Generations Cab

I visited a local wine shop today and saw a small display of these up front, marked down, it claimed, from $60 to $30.

I found some 1996 Meyney here last year for $18, bought a half case, and found them to be in good condition. I mention this just to indicate that I doubt that this is damaged wine being dumped by the store.

The thing is, I can't really find any info about this. Is this a good winery and a good year? And is $30 a good deal, or is that what it should cost anyway?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Chateaux Meyney is a very good St. Estephe (part of Bordeaux) and

1996 an excellent vintage. I don't follow current prices carefully, but $30 sounds like a very good buy to me.

Thanks for the reply, but I was asking about 1996 Raymond Generations Cab, not 1996 Meyney.

OK, sorry. I see now that it says that in the subject line, but I seldom look at subject lines, and all the body text was about Meyney.

'96 Raymond Generations is a good, medium-weight Cab. I had a bottle of it maybe 2-3 years ago and it was still in fine shape. It orginally retailed for ~$50 IIRC, so your price seems quite reasonable.
