July 4th

Hi all,

Just a quickie to wish all my friends in the USA a very happy Independance day. It goes without saying that I think you made the wrong decision ;-))))

Nevertheless, enjoy your holidays and raise a glass to your friends overseas, and especialy to those putting their lives on the line overseas. May their actions bring credit to your great nation.

Thanks, Ian! We plan to celebarte the event with a French wine, in honor of the aid provided by the Marquis de Lafayette, namesake of our town. ;-)

I am glad we won.....had we lost it would be eating fish and chips today....greatly like Hamburger and hot dogs more.:-)

Does any wine go with hot dogs, sweet relish, hot peppers, mustard and catsup(chicago style)?

Agreed, with alacrity!

No catsup/ketchup for me, thanks. And where are the _onions_?

Wine with hot dogs? White Zinfandel maybe?

Which time? Leaving King George or following George W? ;^)

Thank you, Ian. Well said - as usual.

"Mark Lipton" in news: snipped-for-privacy@eudrup.ude...

One of the wine organizations I know brings together routinely people from France and the US, and opens such meetings with each nationality offering a toast to the other's head of government. This does not of course mean that everyone is uniformly enthusiastic about their or their visitors' current head of government, but it does mean that they can focus on larger things also.

One of the vital traditions of newsgroup food and wine discussion has been its internationality, facilitating people to salute the contributions of others far away geographically.
