Just curious...
Am I the only person in this planet who likes Port wine but usually finds it too sweet?
So I usually mix it with another (usually not-expensive merlot) wine to achieve a great taste.
Hmmm. For me, that's a kind od oxymoron: Either I like something (a given produce), or I don't.
Whatever suits to your taste (as long as it contains wine ;-) - go ahead.
Sandeman in Portugal serve their White Port as a long drink called "Splash": Icecubes in a highball glass, a serious service of Sandeman White Port (on the dry side, iirc), filled up with tonic.
Had that with George Sandeman on a boat on the Douro - and very fine it was, in fact.
